The Mona Rachel is my version of the Mona Lisa. The original Mona Lisa was painted by the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci from 1503–1519. This oil painting was painted on a polar panel which was very popular during this time period. Some weird things about the Mona Lisa is that most people think that it’s a female version of Leonardo himself. However some people believe that the woman is Lisa Gherardini, born in 1479. She was 24 years old and the mother of two sons when she posed for the painting but why he chose her is still a mystery. Also, some people think the reason that she has no eyebrows was because that was the fashion during this time period. Others think that she has no eyebrows in the painting is because during one of the first times they were trying to clean and restore the painting an error was made and the eyebrows were accidentally removed. As you can see there is a lot of rumours surrounding this very famous painting, and this is one of the reasons that make it so popular today. Rachel was my subject and I used 1:0 lighting with one of the older lights to get a more "yellowish" hue, to match the Mona Lisa. I also used a reflector (large white cardboard) as a fill for the other side. Then, in photo shop, I simply placed her face over the Mona Lisa and used the burn tool to create the shadow.

Banner!!!
While creating this banner I realized that letters can be found anywhere. Believe it or not, if you look at something long enough it turns into a letter. To create this banner I tryed to use the things that inspire me in life like art, nature, architecture, and just plain creativity. My art inspiration is shown in my use of the S, the E, the second L in Kelly and also the Y. All of these letters were found in various paintings and murals around the school that I have always thought looked cool. Nature was shown in my use of the first a in Samantha. Sadly that was the only letter in my name that I could find in nature. my N, T, H, and A were inspired by my love of architecture. And finally my M, my second A, K and first L were all found by luck and creativity, really, I would just be walking by something and say " Hey that looks like a..." and just take a picture of it. So really, you can make something out of anything.
